Preamble
Globalisation of education and economy has led the institution to reorient and reshape its policies and programmes to make the current Indian Higher Education System more relevant and career-oriented with focus on quality and excellence. It is envisaged that professionally qualified graduates with a sound knowledge of their core disciplines and expertise in a concerned skill will have more openings in service, industry and self-employment sectors. Demand and scope for such professionally trained graduates are visible in the applied fields of almost all basic/core disciplines and faculties in the current changing global scenario and is likely to increase in the future. To meet this challenge, during the current academic year (2018-19), the college would like to encourage incorporation of skill oriented and value added, add-on courses in college to be opted by students as a parallel sub-discipline while pursuing their degree level education.
Scope and Objective of this course:
This course will lay emphasis on the practical aspects with a solid knowledge base. Typical real life situations are covered under the syllabus. A student will learn how to compute taxable income under the heads - Salaries, House properties, Business and Profession, Capital gains and other sources. Moreover, they can also learn how to compute tax liability of an individual, HUF, Firms,Companies etc. and how to file income-tax return in case of various assesses. The students would get an idea about Indirect Taxes – GST and tax planning and customs clearance procedure which attempts to reduce the burden of businessman. This course is intended to give a spurt to aspiring tax enthusiasts who have a natural flair to develop tax base. After completion of this course, one can start his/her career as a tax consultant or tax practitioner; thereby creating opportunities for self-employment.
