Course Details :

M.Phil. History or Master of Philosophy in History is postgraduate History course. History is the discovery, collection, organization and presentation of information about past events. History can also mean the period after writing was invented. Scholars who write about history are called hisorians. It is a field of research which uses a narrative to examine and analyse the sequence of events and it sometimes attempts to investigate objectively the patterns of cause and effect that determine events. M.Phil. course is a special research degree and only awarded by selected departements of a university mostly in the fields of Arts, Social history, Archaeology, Philosophy and Administraion.

This course is suitable for those,

• Who can construct an argument by selecting and ordering relevant evidence and then to communicate findings in a structured, clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing are also the best match for the course.
• Have self-motivation and self-reliance with the abiliy to work withourt direct supervision and manage time and priorities effectively.

After finishing this program, students normally enrol for a Ph.D.program. Candidates can get well paid jobs in newspapers as well as in private sectors. Also, they can go for IAS Exam as History finds a unique place in the paper. Museums and galleries require professionals with knowledge of history.
