M.Sc. Chemistry (Un-Aided)
Course Details :
Course Details :
Master of Science in Chemistry is 2-year career-oriented postgraduate course. Chemistry is a category of physical science that deals with the structure, composition, and various properties of matter. Some topics which chemistry aims to cover include the formation of chemical bonds, properties of atoms, and the intermolecular forces responsible for giving matter its unique properties.
This course is suitable for those who are willing to go for teaching fields at hegher degree level both in private and government institutions, and also those who want to go for further research work after Master's degree.
The aim of this course is
- to provide students with essential skills in the characterisation of materials by spectroscopic, structural and analytical techniques. This will be achieved with reference to organic, organo metallic, inorganic and polymeric materials and to give students an in-depth experience of chemical research through individual, extended Masters research projects.
- To develop confidence in the use of English oral and written skills within a chemical context
This degree course gives a solid base for higher degree programs in respective subjects, e.g. M.Phil. & Ph.D. for research work. Most people with an M.Sc in Chemistry pursue careers in research, teaching, laboratory work in food and drink industry, medicine and medical colleges. They can become teacher at school level after it and after having passed NET / SET exam they can go for permanent jobs in colleges and universities.
