History of the Department
The Department was started as unaided in the year 2003, affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, under the guidance of senior and eminent professors like Mr. S.Sriram, Mr. R. Chockalingam, Mr. K. Alwan, with initial strength of 18 students. Because of the tireless efforts of dynamic professors like Dr. John Prince Soundaranayaham, Dr. M. Nagarajan, Dr. K. Amuthavalli, and Dr. S. Subramanian, the department has exhibited great strength in adversity.
The Department of Physics is marching forward with full research empowerment right from the beginning. There are various faculty members who focus on Research & Development. With the guidance of faculty members, students have achieved University Rank since 2006. After two decades of department journey, the department proudly possesses many great alumni. Many of our students are employed abroad in various fields in reputed organizations, performing important roles in fields such as teaching, banking, Central & State government jobs.
