Introduction

Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) plays a very important role in improving the quality of life of today's human society for information and decision making. Most noticeable among there are satellite navigation, remote sensing data, Landuse and landcover studies, natural resource management, urban studies, weather forecasting, disaster mitigation through emergency mapping, etc. All countries, have realised the importance of Remote sensing and GIS  technology for improving the living conditions of their citizens. The global satellite data availability has made it possible for all countries to get benefits. However, a major precondition to successful space technology applications is the development of essential indigenous capabilities, particularly human resources.

Our centre offers three different certificate programs in RS and GIS field:

1. Remote Sensing & Digital Image Analysis
2. Basics of Geographic Information System
3. IIRS Outreach Programs

Objective: Understand the basic concepts of remote sensing and extraction data form imagery
