Postgraduate and Research Department of Economics

The department of Economics has been offering a U.G. degree Programme for students since 1957.  Later in 1981, a Master’s degree Programme was introduced, followed by the M. Phil programme in 1988. The department was upgraded to a research centre in 2012. The department follows Choice Based Credit System and internal assessment. Its priority areas of research are Agricultural and Industrial Economics, Labour Economics, Monetary Economics, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, Women Studies, Rural Economics, Environmental Economics and Fishery Economics are rolled into one.
