In a country like India, multilingual experience is the norm and learning new languages is often an unconscious process. Multi Linguistic Learning Centre at V. O. Chidambaram College offers a platform to our students to sensitize themselves to languages used in social contexts other than their own. The programme owes its success to the combined efforts of a set of highly motivated teachers and successive batches of students who, despite a demanding academic schedule, show a keen interest in enriching their multilingual repertoire

Basic Information
The Multi Linguistic Learning Centre is a new endeavour by V. O. Chidambaram College.. Eager and motivated students learn a language either purely out of interest or for professional reasons. Many students, who wish to pursue a higher degree or a job outside India, find the knowledge of a foreign language an additional benefit.
Each language course includes 100 hours online live class and the classes will be conducted from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, three days in a week, in the ICT Hall.
.Languages
The Multi Linguistic Learning Centre offers courses in German, French, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and Japanese.
Instructors
Courses are conducted by trained instructors from INaWORD, Chennai
INaWORD was founded in 2000 by Zenobia Irani, a foreign language professional who acutely felt the need for foreign language courses training in Chennai, in which verbal skills, both speaking and listening, are given due emphasis.
Anticipating the demand for other foreign languages, they started with French and German but quickly added on Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and English, making it Chennai’s premier multi-lingual Institute. They also brought in foreign languages classes that are aligned to premier certification standards – CEFR for French, German & Chinese, JLPT for Japanese, and HSK for Mandarin Chinese.
In April 2017 , they launched their satellite “INaWORD Classrooms” in Kilpauk and Anna Nagar, set up in collaboration with Qual-ET Education & Training. More recently, in January 2018, they have opened up a new INaWORD Classroom in Nungambakkam, also in partnership with Qual-ET. With this initiative, which will soon also be rolled out into other parts of the city, they are able to bring their services closer to their customers, whichever part of Tamilnadu they live, study or work in.
